A specialty of Elena Corral Therapy

Understanding the why beneath the pattern.

How early relationships and the unconscious quietly shape what happens today.

What this is

Psychodynamic therapy is a depth approach. It assumes that a great deal of what shapes our present lives — the patterns we can't seem to change, the reactions that surprise us — has roots we can't easily see.

In session, we make room for those roots. We notice what comes up between us, what shows up in dreams and slips, and what themes keep returning across very different-looking relationships.

The goal isn't to reduce you to a story about the past. It's to see the past clearly enough that it stops running the present without your permission.

What the work looks like

A quiet, honest shape to the hour.

01

We follow what keeps returning

Not just what happened this week, but the shape of it — what feels familiar, what echoes, what your reactions might be trying to tell you about older material.

02

We take the relationship in the room seriously

What comes up between us — trust, hesitancy, closeness, distance — is often a small, honest version of what comes up elsewhere. That's information, not a detour.

03

We work at a pace that lets insight land in the body

Understanding on its own doesn't change us. We slow down enough for new awareness to be felt, not just filed away.

Who this is for

Psychodynamic work tends to fit people who sense there's more underneath — who've tried more structured approaches and want to understand themselves at a deeper level, or who are ready to sit with complexity rather than manage it away. It works well alongside IFS and attachment-based work.
