About Elena
25 years, and a long way home.
My path to this work began a long way from Greenville — with children in Romanian orphanages, and a question that has never left me.
Every part of you is welcome here.
Early years
Trained first as an engineer (BS, Timiș University, Romania), then completed postgraduate study in Social Work and Psychology.
1993
Began this work with children in Romanian orphanages, in partnership with the British charity the Romanian Orphanage Trust; studied child psychology and child-care management in Scotland.
1995
In 1995, I emigrated from Romania and immigrated to the United States, working with children and families, then earned a Master of Social Work at Loyola University Chicago.
Through the 2000s
Worked with nonprofits and therapeutic schools, diagnosing and treating children, adolescents, and young adults.
2013 — today
Opened a private practice in Greenville, SC — now seeing children through seniors, couples, and families, specializing in healing trauma at every age.
To understand how untreated trauma shapes our relationships — and the way we feel about ourselves — and to help people heal it.
